Tyre Information.
The stuff you always wanted to know about tyres. Most common radial tyres have a 3 number designation of size followed by load index number & speed rating letter. eg 215/55R16 97W
215 is the tyre section width in millimetres. 55 is the aspect ratio in % (the height of the sidewall divided by the tyres width). R denotes radial. 97 denotes the load carrying capacity ( see following chart). The letter W denotes the speed rating (see following chart). Please note that the following chart does not give full information & is for reference only.
